Kingsley Press on Squidoo

  • July 26th, 2007

Squidoo is one of the most interesting and exciting things to hit the web recently and Kingsley Press has jumped right on the bandwagon! Don’t be put off by the strange sounding name (I have no idea why they call it that) or by the fact that pages on Squidoo are called “lenses.” Once you discover how easy it is to create lenses about things that matter to you, you’ll be hooked. I about guarantee it.

I’ve been hard at work creating a Kingsley Press lens, together with a few related lenses covering authors like Randy Alcorn and Patricia St. John, as well as a lens on what I consider “must read” Christian books. There’s even a personal lens about my family and me.

Make sure you stop by and leave comments in the comment sections of the various lenses to let us know what you think of us and our online store and the books we carry.

A Young Person’s Guide to Knowing God

  • July 10th, 2007

A Young Person's Guide to Knowing GodRecently we also added A Young Person’s Guide to Knowing God by Patricia St. John. This book was especially written by Patricia St John for all young people who want to learn about God and get to know Him for themselves. Every chapter deals with a basic Christian belief and tackles some of the most searching questions the author was asked, including: Who is God and what is he like? Why is there so much suffering in the world? Wasn’t I born a Christian? Does Jesus care about me? Can I really know God? Do you just sit around waiting for Him to pop in? Where does He hang out? Do you have to go out and find Him in church or other ‘God’ places like that? Through enjoyable real-life stories, prayers and thought-provoking questions, the reader will discover what Christians believe and what friendship with Jesus can mean in their lives. This guide book will encourage and help you to get into God’s ultimate guide book - His Word.

Prayer is an Adventure by Patricia St. JohnToday we’ve added Prayer is an Adventure to our online store. Just go to the Patricia St. John section of the store and add this great book to your shopping cart. This best selling children’s author encourages young people and children to build a friendship with God through prayer. The first part of the book is broken down into 10 sections, with titles like: What is Prayer? Who Am I Talking to? Why Pray? and Does God Answer Prayer? Each section has a special “Search the Bible” box, in which readers are encouraged to look up suggested verses on prayer. The rest of the book is made up of example prayers. Once again these are divided into sections such as Prayers of Belief, Prayers of Love and Thanks, Prayers of Repentance and Prayers for Special Occasions. This book can be read to 7 to 9 year olds; 9 to 13 year olds can read the book themselves. Give this great book to that special child in your life!
